What we do
- Adults only. Date of birth is required at sign up, and anyone under 18 is refused.
- Every photo is reviewed by a person before it can appear to other members. A new photo goes back into review.
- Messaging opens only inside a mutual match. Nobody can message you out of nowhere.
- Report and block live on every profile and in every chat. Blocking stops discovery and messaging at once, in both directions, and reports are reviewed by people.
- No fake members. Not by members, not by bots, and never by us. We would rather open a smaller, real room.
What we do not do, in plain words. Celibae does not run criminal background checks, identity verification, or sex offender registry searches on members. A reviewed photo is not proof of who someone is or what their history holds. No service can honestly promise that the people you meet are safe, and you should be wary of any that does. Your judgement is a real layer of your safety, and this page exists to sharpen it.
Getting to know someone, safely
- Keep conversation inside Celibae while you are getting to know someone. Moving to another app or a phone number quickly is a classic pattern in scams.
- Video chat before you meet. A person who will not appear live is a person to pass on.
- Never send money, gift cards, or cryptocurrency, and never share financial information, no matter the story. Anyone who asks is running a scam. Report them.
- Protect your details: no home address, workplace, daily routines, or children's details until trust is earned over time.
Meeting in person
- Meet in a public place, and stay in public for the first meetings.
- Tell a friend who you are meeting, where, and when. Share your location with them if your phone allows it.
- Arrange your own transport there and back, so you can leave whenever you choose.
- Keep your phone charged and with you.
- Trust discomfort. You never owe anyone an explanation for leaving.
Your boundary is the house rule
Everyone here chose celibacy, on one of two paths: waiting until marriage, or celibate for life. If a member pressures you about that choice, mocks it, or treats it as a challenge, that is a violation of the community rules. Report them. It is exactly what the button is for, and a person reads every report.
Red flags worth acting on
- Asking for money, gifts, travel costs, or help with a financial emergency.
- Refusing video chat, or photos that never change and look lifted.
- Love declared at full speed in the first days, especially with a reason it must stay secret.
- Stories that do not add up, or anger when you set a pace or a boundary.
- Pressure to leave Celibae for another channel right away.
If something goes wrong
If you are in immediate danger, call 911 first. Then report the member in the app so the room is protected too.
- Suicide and Crisis Lifeline (US): call or text 988.
- National Domestic Violence Hotline: 1-800-799-7233, or text START to 88788.
- National Sexual Assault Hotline (RAINN): 1-800-656-4673.
